Google Adsense, because you’re worth it

If you want to make money online, you may think about adding ads from Google on your website.  Although it looks like a great idea, you should first assess the associated business potential.  Google introduced its Adsense program many years ago, allowing millions of webmasters around the World to earn some money easily online.  The ads come from companies paying for displaying ads on Google search engine or on the websites of its partners like you and me, via the Google Adwords platform.

The kind of advert displayed on your website depends on the person who visit your website.  Indeed, Google target all of us when we search things on the Internet through its search engine or the websites of its Adsense partners. Google understands what you like in life, what you want and what you are ready to buy.  Therefore when you visit a website, you already noticed you get ads targeted to what you searched beforehand on the Internet.

In the past, the ads displayed were directly linked to the content of your website.  So if you wanted to earn some dollars, it was a good idea to create a website talking about lucrative subjects like “How to start investing in stocks?”.  Now the World has changed, and your way to make big money with Google Adsense is by generating an insane traffic on your website.  That’s really hard to do, and it takes a lot of energy.

If you decide to use Google Adsense, make sure your website content fits all kind of screen sizes.  Otherwise Google will never highlight it on its search engine and you won’t get visitors so you will end as a poor guy.

So, is it worth it?  You should compare with the other ways of making money online, like selling your own products.  You should also consider the drawbacks of letting Google decide which ads to display on your website.  From my experience, it’s not always good advertising.  Finally, when a user clicks on an ad, he leaves your website.  Do you like seeing your visitors leave like that?

In conclusion, I consider Google Adsense as a great program for small publishers who want to earn some dollars with their personal websites.  It is perfect for millions of webmasters around the World.  It’s also rewarding to earn money even when you sleep after you spent so much time creating your website!
